Kat and Alexa Lakey were sold to the circus at a very young age and spent most of their childhood shoveling elephant poop. Alexa became the bearded lady as soon as she hit puberty, while Kat was the feral child who was raised by wolves and ate dirt.
When they were in their twenties, the two freaky sisters reluctantly left the sideshow and started a new life for themselves on the Central Coast of California. Unable to get real jobs, the young women decided to write an egotistic, semi-autobiographical book about one of their favorite subjects– themselves!
‘Wide Awake & Dreaming ’ is their first novel, and they hope it's not their last.
